A catastrophic earthquake occurred in Nepal on 25th April 2015 at 11:56 a.m. when a 7.9 magnitude shocked the country. This was followed by a second strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.3 on May 12, 2015. Along with much of the country and the city of Kathmandu, these earthquakes destroyed the home of Surya Children Welfare Service Center Nepal. The first earthquake instantly caused our children to become homeless. At the same time, we began the process of rebuilding our lives in the midst of the rubble around us.
The orphanage’s ‘mother’ Namita k.c (Chairperson and Founder), and Milan the Center’s Executive Director and their staff had to move the children outside to a makeshift shelter in nearby school’s open grounds. The children remained outside in tents for over one month during rain, cold, fear, uncertainty and more aftershocks.
Your donation will help greatly for providing a better quality of life to the less fortunate children of our orphanage. You can either donate in cash or through items of daily usage. It will be a great help for our children and you will receive their blessings and thanks.
Additionally, if you can come to our center sometime and spend a couple of hours, playing and laughing with them, it will be surely a delight for them and for you.
Donations of cash or items related to daily needs will be accepted with thanks and gratitude. If you are near Kathmandu, you will also be welcome to visit the children and enjoy their beautiful friendship as you play and laugh with them. You will delight them with your visit and will leave with blessings more beautiful than any you can imagine now. When you bless a child, you receive a greater blessing.
“Thank you for your attention and concern for our children. We hope it will be possible for you the help us with donations to help us rebuild a safe home for our children”.
